Bursa Black Fig is produced from the "Dürdane" variety. It is a fig with a dark purple outer skin, red flesh color and large size (55–65 mm wide). It is grown in Bursa and consumed fresh.

The pollination (fertilization) method of figs shows a region-specific feature. Bursa Black Fig, like other figs, is a fruit that cannot be self-fertilized. In order for the fruit to hold and develop in the fig, the pollen from the male fruits must be carried to the female fig. In order for this to happen, the process of hanging the fruit of the fruit of the male trees on the female fig trees is called lactation. Beekeeping (Blastophaga psenes) is used in the breeding process. If the pollen cannot be carried to the female fig, fruit formation does not occur. There are many female fig trees and few male fig trees in Bursa. Processing is not a spontaneous process, it is done by the producers. Bursa producers put the wicker they collect from the male fig trees in cloth, plastic, cheesecloth or similar bags and hang them on the female fig trees. The said application is carried out 3 times between June and July. Producers have determined the number of straws to be used based on their experience, and usually 10 straws are hung on a tree that yields 100 kg of fruit. Excessive processing causes the fruit to remain small, deformities and souring of the fruit. Black figs, produced with the influence of the traditional knowledge of Bursa producers, are large in size, neatly shaped and sweet.
